Started in 2001, Muslim Aid Bangladesh Country Office is operating two TVET centers in Saidpur and Mohammadpur and three Muslim Aid Institutes of Technology (MAIT)s in Mirpur, Jashore and Rangpur where around 500 students get enrolled in 4-year Diploma Engineering courses and 4,000 youths receive skills training (Three/ six months) in every year under different trade/courses as per curriculum of Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). MABCO started skill development projects to create employment opportunities and reduce unemployment issue within the society. Through MAITs and TVET Centers, underprivileged youths are prepared for the labor market through skill development courses in areas such as computer application, electrical and house wiring, mobile phone servicing, driving and auto mechanics, dress making and tailoring, refrigeration and air conditioning, engine mechanics, and freelancing etc. Moreover, MABCO provides stipend to the students and some courses are fully sponsored. Mentorship and counseling for job placement and entrepreneurship are also provided. Currently, MABCO is operating IsDB funded TVET project and BRAC CBF funded RESCUE project in Bangladesh. In 2022, the Livelihoods Programme has supported around 6,728 individuals so far through various projects.
